The Slap

isnt it strange though that with a place with probably more police than any where else in california at the time, and every person there has there own bodyguards and security, not one security guard or cop came on stage????? or escorted the aggressor out of the building, he just strolled back to his table....lol. man, security is better in a dive bar than at the oscars.... notice how since the superbowl wardrobe malfunction now every publicized "event" has some form of controversy......hmmmmmm

Let me first say, violence is never acceptable. Will Smith was out of line with the slap. However, Chris Rock was way over the line with the joke aimed at a medical problem that Jada has. And it was the second time he's done it to her.

WITH THAT SAID, why in the world is it Red Type Headline News on Drudge? All over Fox? CNN? What the heck? I didn't watch the Oscars, don't care about them yet I know all about this just from headlines.

The world is burning and this is the headline news? Really???

***end rant***
I totally agree with you, Debi! With all the major stuff happening in this world, do we really want to get this upset over a slap? Will Smith is no angel, nor is Chris Rock. But the extent of coverage this is getting makes me sad about the mental capacity of all the people who are getting worked up about it. If Chris Rock isn't making a big deal out of it, why are we?

And I have to agree with Lynne to some extent. Will showed a primitive male instinct to defend the honor and respect of his wife. I don't agree with slapping people, though, but on the other hand Chris should have kept his humor out of the getting personal range.

Yeah I thought it was staged at first and the more you think about it was I reckon.
