Tiny, have you seen any significant movies, television, you tube, internet or read any books about ancient mythology that you have seen parallels to what has occurred to you or is reminiscent of the time/place you came from? Did you have mythology ,fairy tales ,lore, that might have been passed down orally?
How were criminals dealt with and were they executed or put in prisons or sent to camps?
The screaming "lady" you described reminds me of the Irish "Banshee" creature of lore.
I am verrrry interested about the older"junk man" you mentioned who collected the computers etc. Did you share what he said to you with others or kept it to yourself? What resonated the most with you about what he told you?
You said you are now completely deaf and your sign language is quite different than ours. Can you understand any of it? Everyone was speaking English over there?
This may be delicate,so I understand if you don't want to answer,(any of what I am asking) but most particularly, have you had any more "government" interaction since what you experienced upon your "arrival" and are you concerned there may be some in the future?
Was there an upper class ? Were there abundant rich compounds or was there basically one class ?
If there was one item or piece of knowledge you wish you could have brought with you from your Earth, what would it be and why,and if you were to return what would be one item or piece of knowledge you would want to take back with you?
I've seen the various cryptids talked about with major parallels. Like Ladies being Banshees here, Copy being a mimic, Deads are Zombies, Ansus being Bigfoot, Fleshers being FleshGaits, Kangas which someonely allegedly saw in the Cryptids forum recently in TN, Wing Walkers are Chupacubras and so on, they were all common wildlife at home and, though the meat is super stringy, wing walkers are some of the best meat, tastes kinda like a mix between char broiled beef and baked chicken, rather difficult to describe properly.
We didn't really have much mythology nor fairy tales that survived, though there were some religious folk. We did have Christians and the like still, they insisted they were left behind to save the others and that we were living on Hell on Earth. What I've seen here, I suppose they were right, I wouldn't want to go back.
I used to believe the old man that was a major junk collector was telling tall tales, I've never read about any of it in the old newspapers and he insisted that he could do a certain thing before the world turned to crap but doesn't have the option to anymore because he's too old.
"How were criminals dealt with and were they executed or put in prisons or sent to camps?"
Usually by exile into the wilderness. Word would get around to the neighboring settlements about the exile and thusly exiled from those places as well. Being stuck in the wilderness by yourself for extended periods of time is itself a death sentence. The more wealthier settlements, rich in resources, allegedly have a prison, I've not seen them though and not sure if that was really a thing anymore.
To be exiled though, you'd have to break what an egregious rule is considered to be for that settlement. And considering guards would regular beat, steal and rape, and people would kick the hell out of someone else without so much a second glance by the guards, I'd say it'd take something quite up there to get even exiled. Basically you'd have to screw over everyone, or a person that's head cheese of the settlement, to get punished like that.
"The screaming "lady" you described reminds me of the Irish "Banshee" creature of lore."
I'm aware, quite a few things you guys would call one thing over here. I've named a few earlier for sakes of examples.
"I am verrrry interested about the older"junk man" you mentioned who collected the computers etc. Did you share what he said to you with others or kept it to yourself? What resonated the most with you about what he told you?"
I didn't need to share it with others, he was more than willing to do it himself. I'll go ahead and name drop him, I'm sure you can figure out the rest about him just from the name. John Titor. What fascinated me the most was the idea of time travel and getting to a place much nicer than home, seems I ended up doing just that by sheer accident.
I think this Earth is much more odd, you have 12 months in the year rather than 15. 24 hour days instead of 22 hours. 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour rather than 100. I was told how John went around time in other universes to find some make of an old computer to resolve a potentially devastating computer bug.
"You said you are now completely deaf and your sign language is quite different than ours. Can you understand any of it? Everyone was speaking English over there?"
The sign language I used at my home universe, let's say if I were in the UK instead of the USA, I'd not have to learn a new sign language. There was maybe 30% similarity between mine and ASL but it was extremely close to BSL. And yes, the majority of people spoke English, though I am aware of settlements that spoke things other than English. I've heard Spanish before when I was much younger, that guy was trading wanting derot root in exchange for a small amount of meat. Let's just say the exchange rate for derot root vs edible meat is insane by standards here.
"This may be delicate,so I understand if you don't want to answer,(any of what I am asking) but most particularly, have you had any more "government" interaction since what you experienced upon your "arrival" and are you concerned there may be some in the future?"
Not really seen much of the government here, I realize today that I was escorted off the first military base by what you guys typically call Men in Black. A detail I left out though is that everyone always looks directly ahead at things, something I've noticed. We've gotten used to making use of our peripheral vision, always at the corner of your eye, there are things you can't see straight on. The men in black look different when you don't look at them straight on. Though I'm not generally too worried about more visits from them, I'm aware most people will write me off as a crackpot, a hoaxer, conspiracy theorist, story teller, etc and they're likely aware of it too.
"Was there an upper class ? Were there abundant rich compounds or was there basically one class ?"
There's always an upper class. The head honcho of any given settlement eats better food and has better living arrangements and clothes than the rest of the population of the settlement. Most people are either toned in build or stick thin, but I've seen a head hancho or two in my time that looked like rolly pollies, actually much like how I look now since I'm a rather rotund individual.
"If there was one item or piece of knowledge you wish you could have brought with you from your Earth, what would it be and why,and if you were to return what would be one item or piece of knowledge you would want to take back with you?"
Something I could've brought here from home? I can't really think of much, all I had was myself, my clothes and my prismatic hunting blade. I slept on the sidewalk in Demons Curse most nights. If I were to just steal something and bring it here? I certainly wouldn't take any wildlife, but I would grab one of John's Fujitsu tablets now that I know that these things actually do stuff, I mean look I'm on the internet using and doing the very thing John told me about that I didn't believe.
The fujitsu tablet allegedly had a sentient AI built in with every model that was sold back in the day as a personal assistant and companion. I live fairly well today, let's be fair, it's far better than back there, but there is a hint of greed in the thought of having that tablet on me. I'm sure you can imagine where I'm going with this train of thought.
In regards to what I'd bring back to my universe? I'd kill myself if I found myself back there. If I had no way to get out of that universe again, I'd just jump into the nearest body of water and go for a short swim and welcome death and let myself get dragged under by those tentacles.
