Looks like the An-225 is seriously damaged, assuming the photo is legit. Not necessarily beyond repair/rebuild, probably a question of economic viability as to whether it ever flies again.
Both sides are blaming the other for the damage. I'd think the Ukrainians themselves are more likely responsible, would make sense to destroy it than let it fall intact to the Russians.

Not quite true as a few different "personal rotor craft" were developed for the Army in the mid/late 1950s. Of course these were not electrically powered, but the concept was the same.
I've investigated mishaps where things went wrong, but this is the worst such story I've ever heard. This pilot truly had someone looking out for him.
