School/cafeteria food

In elementary school, my faves were the baked ham with pineapples and lots of buttered bread, the Salisbury steaks and tater tots, and the grilled cheese sandwiches. I could not eat the green jello with the tiny, hard marshmallows that was served for St. Patrick's day, though. I have always hated jello! Maybe it was because my brother told me that jello was actually part of that creature from the movie, "The Blob."

Usually had to take lunch in a brown paper bag which consisted of a squashed hot vegemite sandwhich and an over ripe banana which had been in the hot school bag all day ;vo.I still remember the rotten banana smell. If I could scrape up a few bob I'd buy a potato pie and pineapple donut :yum:

Lunch box until Jr. High. Had a :) sticker, Peace Sign sticker, and Chicago sports teams. Same sports teams stickers today on my lunch & tool boxs.
In high school we had open campus. So once a week we'd go to Dairy Queen.
Good times.

Oh Oz my heart goes out to you. None of that sounds good to me. What’s a hot veggie sandwich?
