9/08/2015 - Art Interviews Debbie Anderson

Not new, but rare in the United States, where Freemasonry is almost exclusively male. This male-only Craft descends from the United Grand Lodge of England. The order to which I belong is a descendent of the Grand Orient of France. One extremely brave soul initiated a woman, and here we are today! Le Droit Humain accepts women as equals to men and atheists as equal to any religion. In a world in which women's equality is becoming the norm, such archaic groups that discriminate exclusively on the basis of sex are really just odd relics of the past.
Ahh
Debbie,
"Some Brave English Gentleman" once upon a time raised Brother Prince Hall....
I, after more than 200 years, am NOW able to address Prince Hall by Brother.....
He was raised 1775.
He was the father of "Black Freemasonry" in the U.S.
He was an important figure in our country's early history
Fact: I have attended Lodge with my fellow Prince Hall Brothers...
(This ONLY took 227 years to be possible)

They also make members take an oath.
So do politicians
police
doctors
elected government officials
appointed government people
military
girl scouts
school children (my day)
those who recite "pledge of allegiance"
WHAT IS YOUR POINT ??
Many others have taken an oath....
YOU have NEVER ???????

Sometimes change happens waaaaay too slowly. But it happens, and the folks who try to stop it eventually die out.

Thank you very much. It's been interesting to read the comments and the criticisms.
You did a terrifically informative interview and knocked it out of the park. Sorry about Art's first question, we all reacted here and on the TuneIn forum. You adroitly negogiated that complex query well.

So so correct..
I was born, raised and grew up in a small town...WHERE EVERYONE WAS "the same"...
My parents educated us to appreciate cultures, belief systems, religions etc...
I DID NOT realize that NOT all of my friends were like minded...UNTIL I attended University..

Observation
When the caller asked....would you feel bad if you defended a guilty party ??
Duh..
Would a prosecutor feel bad for prosecuting an innocent person ??
AND SHOULD NOT THE POLICE FEEL REALLY BAD FOR ARRESTING an innocent person ??
What about the CO that is in charge of the jailed innocent person ??
What about the jury that convicted an innocent person ??
BUSINESS law at University..

That question is very much akin to if your mother and your wife are drowning, which one will you save? The worst comment I ever faced, though, was from a woman who lived in the same apartment house as I did when I was in law school and a few years after. We'd talked almost every day on the shuttle bus that the apartment provided, and she knew me as a person. One day, about a year after I'd graduated, she asked me what specialty I'd chosen. I told her criminal defense, and her comment was, "People must really hate you."
My friends, you can't please everybody.
