Buffy was a sort of light-hearted version of the same idea of Sookie Stackhouse and True Blood. I personally love the Sookie Stackhouse books but never cared for the TV series that much. The TV show was, to me, somewhat darker than the books version of the story.

The OA is very good and to be honest one of my favorite TV shows. It will definitely draw your attention. The bad thing about it is that they cancelled it after season two.
