Gnome in Oz

I ended up living near the sighting on a property and a friends daughter had seen this creature years later.Every time I drove past I would look around but nothing.Funny thing in the small town near there was an old local character who looked almost identical to the gnome,only a little bloke too, but much bigger than the gnome.Then I got to thinking ,was this creature some kind of inbred human from the area,sounds far fetched but they looked like brothers lol.
