As I read this thread, I wondered the same thing. Did you talk to her about your experience?
That is interesting, about finding out about your DNA having those races in it. Very cool.
Not sure what you mean by service Lynne. And no, I never discussed it with her for two reasons. I felt it would be intrusive, and the other that it would freak her out if she had been aware of what had happened. Believe me, I have never had any insights like this received without fear, suspicion or even resentment. There is a possibility that she would have thought it was good, but I wasn't going to take that chance.
See my reply to Lynne.
strange how that works, isn't it... it scares ppl, and afterwards they are very careful of how they act or what they say around you, if they talk at all....(like that even matters....lol).. its like all of a sudden ppl think you know all of their deepest secrets or sins or something..... (which may be valid to an extent...lol)….but it does scare ppl to think something beyond their understanding or control is at play, and brings out a defensive attitude.
Thanks, I found this validating! A good example of this is once I was leaving the hospital after a routine procedure, according to hospital policy I had to leave in a wheelchair. An aide was pushing the WC and I thought she looked pregnant, so I asked when her baby was due. Her reaction was shock and hostility, and she demanded to know how on earth I had known that she was pregnant! I looked closely and realized that she didn't look pregnant at all, and I hastily improvised and said that she had such a healthy glow about her. She looked flattered and the danger had passed. Phew! Somehow, I had picked up on it.
I have heard numerous accounts of women sensing the pregnancy of other women. One of best friend's wife, a delivery room nurse and mother of five, had a history of identifying pregnant women before they had even been tested. She often mentioned "glow" as one of her perceptions.
Garnetsilver, that was thinking fast on your feet with the pregnant lady?
Not too long ago I had an encounter with ancestors I never met. I knew it was not a lucid dream because but images looked like they were shot on different film.
Sort of like you can tell the difference in a cowboy movie made in the 1930s versus the 1950s were the 1970s or Tombstone.
My Swedish ancestors came to Chicago before the turn of the last century.
Let's just call the year 1890, I was standing on a long lawn leading out to a large lake. The grass look like it was cut with a sickle bar. Purple and yellow wildflowers were all around. My great great grandpa and his brothers and wives and children were playing music on a piano and violins, and the Sun was shining and it was a very good place. They recognized me and waved.
I turned around and went to the big house with the big kitchen in the back. It look like my great grandma's 1950s kitchen that I remember as a kid. Auqa and pink tile. Only there was no electricity or gas to cook with. I remember my mom and my cousin Dorothy cooking with some other relatives that I never met. It may have been my grandma that I never met.
I offered to help with the dishes.
And that was it.
That's awesome! I bet they loved you for offering to help with the dishes! I have had a few dreams where, in retrospect, I felt that I had been interacting with ancestors. I have a very mixed ancestral gene pool, so it was interesting!
I've heard of that, too. But in this case, it was pure fiction on my part, because I just wanted to make a believable excuse for somehow guessing that this woman was expecting. I'm suspecting that what I had seen was a glimpse into her future, when her abdomen was more prominent than it actually was at that moment.
