SLEEP! I'VE BEEN A BIT LOW ON IT LATELY MYSELF.
JUST SAW THIS LITTLE INFO MEME AND WONDERED, HOW MUCH SLEEP DO YOU NEED TO FEEL RESTED? AND HOW MUCH DO YOU ACTUALLY GET?
WHO HAS SLEEP ISSUES OUT THERE BESIDES ME? ANYBODY? OR ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE THAT CAN SLEEP ANYWHERE, ANYTIME?

When I was much younger, I used to get by with 6 -7 hours of sleep and did just fine. But I now wonder if years of that sleep schedule caused a big deficit that will never be recovered! I need a lot of sleep now, sometimes I sleep for ten hours or more, and wake exhausted. In that ten hours, I wake a lot, so I probably still only get 6 - 7 hours total. I truly envy people who can sleep the minute they hit the sack, and wake refreshed.

Yes. I'm now off to lie in bed for ages and then get woken up a lot, before finally giving up and carrying on being tired until the next attempt. Maybe I should break out the warm milk. Hot baths aren't cutting it any more. Mostly because I've woken up by the time I'm dry. At least soporific dairy products are in me and not on me!

I get this off Amazon. It has very high reviews and it knocks me out in about 15 minutes. Just bought some for Jadmom and does the same thing to her. It smells FABULOUS just hit the pillow with about 4 squirts and it's off to dreamland..... I tend to get overstimulated with very very verrrry late night research. Last night it was "What is better,a catapult or a trebuchet? " (answer is a trebuchet. It can throw heavier stuff further). #SINGLE4EVER #TOTALWEIRDO

I've heard you never get back lost sleep, a new scientific fact that my gran used to preach to me 50 years ago, lol. They reckon once you get past 50 most have trouble sleeping at night and I believe it. The simple answer is have an afternoon nap if you can. Have a nap whenever you need one people, don't feel bad, humans have been doing this since the beginning.

My sleep patterns are all over the place :tearsofjoy:

I generally go to bed in the early hours of the morning most days - mainly because we have to let the dogs out late otherwise they are awake at the crack of dawn! How long I sleep is usually dependant on my pain levels that day and the resulting medication I have to take.

On 'good' days, I just have to take general pain medication and will usually be up around 09:00 - 09:30. On the bad days, I have to take multiple prescribed painkillers and sleep medication to help me and will wake anytime from late morning to early afternoon - usually feeling like I have had no sleep..........

Then I have occasions where I am just not tired at all and go through the entire night, and the next day, without sleep and push through to the next evening. I guess it's just an overactive brain sometimes, with so much 'noise', and I just find it difficult to 'get tired'. Luckily, these 'sleepless nights' are fairly rare these days compared to only a couple of years ago.

I usually get about 8 hours a night and I'll try for more on the weekends. But sometimes I don't even feel that's enough. I'd give to be able to sleep for 12 straight hours like I used to back in HS but I don't really think I can anymore.

For me, my quality of sleep is also based on whether I fall asleep before or after midnight. 40 years on film sets where we work minimum 13 hrs a day, taught me this. It used too burn me that I would sign up for a 5 day a week job, most are 6 days, and they would work us till sunrise on Saturday. Grrrr. Everyone on a location job is sleep deprived
