Sleep

My childhood sleepwalking got me a major embarrassing ribbing. Upon arriving at sixth grade camp, my cabin counselor called my name to raise my hand. Once identified, I was told that I WILL have a lower bunk. Kids asked me why and I didn’t know so they started a rumor that I wet the bed. I found out late that was because one of parents reported that I sleepwalk.

if I was like my older Brother, I could have gotten revenge because he too would sleepwalk but act out in his sleep including peeing on our Sister’s bed thinking he was at the toilet.
LOL, I can see a camper peeing on someone's bed, then pleading "But I was sleepwalking!"

I have tried Valerian and while at first it relaxes me, after awhile it has the opposite effect. Then there is Melatonin, which lowers my already low blood pressure, unfortunately. Benadryl helps, but also dries out my sinuses. CBD oil lowers my blood pressure too. See what I mean? I am still searching for something safe and effective!
I meant the one they make edibles out of:D

Oh, yes, that. Well, I think I must be part alien because it will give me about five hours of good sleep, then I wake again. I can't use it during the day because thenI feel like I am in a padded cell, lol. I can't understand why people like it so much!

I know,it's not for everyone but it helps if your stressed.I have a mate that it has the opposite effect on.Same as most things,ok if you don't abuse and make it your life, but I believe it is a much less harmful alternative to prescription meds.

Yes, it does help with complex PTSD, at least! I find it calming in very small doses.

This is a really fun thread . It's pretty cool to learn everybody's different strategies.
Once in awhile I get a call to paint a restaurant and that's pretty much always in the middle of the night. So if I'm getting home at 5 a.m. sometimes it's hard to get to sleep.
That's why I keep the bedroom very dark. Dark paint on the walls, and shades and curtains.
Am I a vampire?

I learned that trick from a golf buddy.Great guy. I I've watched this guy make 30 million dollars before he was 30.
But he had certain problems with various substances. So he was dead by 33.:(

I wish I could find a good sleep aid! I have tried multiple natural supplements, and some prescriptions but being extremely sensitive to drugs they rarely work out in the long term. Maybe I should just move to a country where my internal clock would be more at home!;)
Maybe we could swap. :) My natural rhythm is to fall asleep about 4 or 5 am and wake up around lunchtime. I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic!

One thing I have always been grateful for, is that I am not enamored of substances. Being sensitive to most drugs I have never found them to be a source of recreation, so sorry about your buddy. I was told by a medical professional that some people are hard wired to crave drugs, and some are not. It's like they are trying to replace something in the brain chemistry, or they have an addictive gene or something. I found that interesting.
