The "NOPE" Bucket List

No more going up in really tall structures. I’ve had acrophobia all of my life and fought against it. Went up in a tower of 300’ or more on the top of a mountain and the wind caused the structure to start swaying. Then, the elevators failed so stuck on the top frantic for almost 30 minutes. Never again.

LOL I crawled away from a rail at the Grand Canyon....;)

I also went to the top - the outside portion - of the Word Trade Centers in 1992 with three friends. I wanted to jump off. I had to have them hold my hands to constrain me until we could get back inside.

I think that people who don’t have any, nor have experienced any, phobias really don’t understand what real terror is about and how it can debilitate someone. My friends fit into that category.
I have several very real ones, including the fact I cannot watch a swing set swinging. Yeah, I know...very weird....but I'm telling you I totally freak out or become physically ill. I am useless on a playground. It can even be a tire swing. Nopey. Same effect.

Oh whoa. That is entirely new to me. But I promise that I can empathize regardless Debi. I hope that is not the kind of phobia which can strike you when you are innocently driving by a random playground.

I have megalophobia - which is a fear of huge objects. So anything large - a tall building, a blimp, a military ship, etc. can shut me down. So I could be anywhere and freeze up.

I have learned how to drive and NOT look at the playgrounds! Seriously, of all my phobias, I think that one is probably the worst. Heights being a close runner up.

I am convinced my acrophobia and my megalophobia are somehow interrelated or interlinked. I can stand at the bottom of a tall building and feel the exact same fear I feel when I am at the top of a tall building which is different from the fear I have with any other large object - like a ship. Like with large objects I am under, I get a fear of falling up.
