I believe not a word of this tall tale...I see it as a way to wiggle out of said appearance....

Question:
Do people choose a path in witch practice after much study of differing traditions...
OR
is it more as traditional so to speak and path chosen is that to which you are born in to or your close first contact in a path is practicing ??

Both, I think. People will generally commit to what they're first exposed to, but after a few years that can change. As Witchcraft is so experiential, it is hard to really study the Craft without being a part of it.
