    Hi Everyone,

This is not my experience but my fathers. About a year ago my dad lost his dad, he lived a good life until 92. (Grandpa)
My father is an atheist..has been all of his life. Very intelligent man, very good person, very straight...into science etc...as far as I know he has never told me about an experience.. you have to understand my dad is suchhhhhhhh an atheist to the maximum which is why I was suprised that he told me this. I however am religious because of experiences I had and happy I am. This are the words my dad spoke of his dream:

“oh gosh I had such a weird weird dream it was so weird my father was talking to me but it wasnt my father but he sounded exactly like my father and everything. He kept saying that he was my father and I kept saying no you can’t be that’s not true and I began freaking out and I couldnt believe it and my dad said “I am not dead and I am your father” and I couldnt accept it I was going to call the police, it was so weird it was like I was in another dimension. When I wanted to call the police I woke up” it was so weird it was like I was in another dimension”.

so I told my dad what would you do if you went to a psychic and they told you about your dad visiting you in a dream and described this dream?. He said hmmm well then I would be worried. He’s still not religious and is still an atheist but I think this was a visitation dream? Just wanted to know what the dream meant or if anyone else had something similar happen. Thanks

Sounds like your grandfather was trying to send a message to your dad,I think just to let him know he's ok and to reassure him.Maybe it didn't make your dad a believer but I bet it gave him food for thought and may help him when his time is done here.I've been visited by past relo's in dreams, very vivid,I think they all had the message that they are good and happy where they are.All the dreams were overflowing with love.I'll just point out I'm not of any set religion but the different things I've experienced have made me very spiritual.

My mother came to me in a dream after she passed, and as Oz says, the dream was overflowing with such love, that I woke happy and comforted. I am of no set religion either, but am open to the spiritual.

Yes I very much think that he was sending my dad a message too. I think it’s amazing they can do this and yes I thought it was a visitation dream. I’ve never had one, being from a small family not knowing many relatives. Yes I know what you mean I was never a set religion aswell but always abit spiritual but confused. I met my husband and some experiences happened to me and my husband taught me his religion to help me with these experiences which is why I probably went with the religion. I think we are all going to the same place though that’s my feeling no matter what religion or what we believe lol

Yes I often wonder if it gave him food for thought. I think he may think about it now and then. I don’t want to talk to him so much about it because a very long time ago he lost my brother (who was a baby) and I’ve heard him say if there is a god he’s a bad person etc he’s still so upset from loosing my brother he doesn’t want any of religion or spiritual things to think about. So I don’t push it down his throat and I avoid the topic I guess because I have no answer for this.

Sorry about your brother,my brother passed at 23,luckily though he came to me at his passing and said it's ok,I don't think I would have coped otherwise.Even though I know it's just part of life I feel cheated not having him here,so I can see your dads anger. In another way I'm jealous he has already crossed the bridge, but I know I'll get to see him again one day,the best day of all.

Yes, it was pretty amazing. I was too ill to attend her funeral, and felt a sense of unfinished business, until that dream. We had our differences, as I grew up, and near the end I doubted that she loved me. After that dream, I knew for sure that she did, and that she was in a better space. I look forward to seeing her again on the other side.

Lots of good stuff posted above:)
I'm going to speak from my own experience. But also from others that I have sought out, or who have sought me out, regarding dreams of friends and relatives that have passed away.
Our family was once very big and I also had a lot of friends that have passed away. These dreams have started since puberty and I am in my early fifties now- and these dreams have not been surprising for decades.
That said there is, like most spiritual topics, a need for discernment. Is this a visitation or a comforting dream conjured up by the unconscious?
A few aspects I use that confirm the legitimacy of the visitation.
Joy, and or feeling the Holy Spirit.
To some degree these dreams are lucid. Your dad's ability to consciously think during the dream suggest it's valid.
What kind of film was this dream shot on? For me and a few others that I know, a visitation dream will look unlike others. It has a visually unique look .
We have all seen enough cowboy movies. Now the costumes, six shooters, and the buildings and the horses all look the same. But you can tell what decade it was filmed in.:)
...and I'm sorry but this is very difficult to explain:(

A friend or relative may often appear young and healthy and vibrant. Completely different than the person in the hospital bed or the casket.
Let's pick this up tomorrow:D got to go cook some dinner. Paella.

That’s amazing. Yes it really does sound like they have a purpose when they visit you. That’s nice that it gave you closure and you could move on.
