TV and Subtitles

I use subtitles as often as I can, because they help me focus. Also, for when there is an unfamiliar accent. When I use the speech recognition captions, they can be hilarious!

This is now a "thing". Now, we use subtitles because my hubs is hearing impaired. But to find out the younger generation uses them kind of threw me. I can read and watch with ease after years of using them and they are set as our default for TV. Sometimes they can actually be amusing when they quote "Gunshot" or "Indians speaking native language" with no translation...lol.

Anyone else here use them?
I don't intentionally use them, but I don't have a problem watching a movie with them. I watched a movie last night called "Monster". The movie was 90% in Irish Gaelic. I also like martial arts movies and hate it when they do English voice overs
