Hi Klowny and welcome to our forum. I think everyone has given great dream analysis here.
However I do believe we can be attacked spiritually while sleeping so saying a prayer or setting an intention of protection before going to sleep is always a good idea. I personally believe SOME animals are guardian souls. I think some are here to protect certain people. I believe my child was sent a cat that was hers. The cat would sleep on her bed every night and alert her to visiting spirits. This gave her much comfort. She also felt this cat kept them at bay. This companion stayed with her into adulthood until she could grasp handeling these things herself. These presious souls are gifts from God in my opinion. You may have one. Your instinct will tell you. This dream was obviously very impactful and scary for you so having your dog with you is a huge comfort regardless if it’s physical protection or spiritual.
