I hate to say it, but I have an increasingly pessimistic feeling there will be no college football this fall. Several major programs have had numbers of players test positive for COVID and/or have shut down voluntary workouts. Today the Big 10 announced they will play a shortened, conference only schedule. The PAC 10 is rumored to be contemplating the same thing. I see such moves as part of creeping toward no games, much like we saw happen as NCAA basketball whittled down to no tournaments back in March. Add to these occurrences the fact the Ivy League has already cancelled all fall sports. Yes, the Ivy League in an DIIA league that doesn't even take part in the FCS championship playoff, but the Ivy was the first league to shut down what was left of winter sports and all spring sports earlier this year. A lot of talking heads ridiculed the Ivy for their action, only to have the rest of the NCAA programs eventually do the same.

Summer camps/practice usually opens the first week in August. Hard for me to believe that's going to happen with the shutdown of voluntary workouts already and the number of COVID cases on the upswing across the nation. I'm steeling myself for a fall with no college football.

We may see this on a pro level as well. It's looking more doubtful by the minute. I'm already missing it.

I'm not a pro football fan so I really don't care, but I think the odds of the NFL playing will depend on how well MLB does when it comes back.

Yeah, the MAC is the first D1A football domino to fall. I expect others to follow in the next week.
I'm sure you are correct in that expectation. And Duke, I'm sorry for ya and all the others who so look forward to the season. :(

I appreciate the offer Paint, but ESPNU and a number of other cable channels are showing lots of old games. I'm DVRing some of them just on case.
