I spend a lot of time in my bed.
I need specific things to make me happy and comfortable, like two feather pillows,
soft sheets, cool but fluffy heavy bedding, and a mattress that feels pillow soft!
My hubs likes everything exactly the opposite. He likes a rock hard mattress,
4 very flat pillows, and the lightest weight sheets and blanket possible!
There is a constant battle...lol
How do you like your bedding?
Are you picky about it like I am?
(He calls me the "Princess and the Pea" type!)

I was in the Army, I don't have any special requirements for sleeping. I once fell asleep during a parade...that I was in!

My pillow is flat, I think it's slightly thinner than our comforter. If something happens to it, like it needs to be cleaned or gets misplaced, then I can just as easily sleep without it. Blankets are nice, but I can make due with a thin sheet or with nothing whatsoever. My wife steals blankets in her sleep so I usually end up without any form of blanket anyway. Our bed is pretty soft plus we have a memory foam pad with a quilted pillow top mattress cover, but thats for my wife's benefit. I'm fine on any mattress hard or soft, or just the floor or plank of wood or anywhere I can lay down. If I can't lay down then just being able to recline a bit, in a chair or sitting on the floor leaning against a wall, or tree if outdoors, is fine by me.

Bamboo sheets and one light blanket. I forgo the blanket in summer. I like a firm mattress, use two feather pillows and one foam pillow to help support my neck. A body pillow for side support. I like the bedroom between 62 and 66 degrees.
Mrs. GWU will be cold one minute, hot the next. Sheets and blankets on and off, all night. The temperature is never right for her, poor thing.
The Pug likes to plaster herself up against one of us all night, and usually me because I don't fidget as much as the wife.

HA I call myself that!! This is a HUGE deal. HUGE. I am always on the quest for the perfect bedding. I am currently using Cozy Earth sheets (Oprah's favorites lol) I have literally spent thousands of dollars on bedding, many from antique/vintage vendors..shipping alone from europe is costly.. special gel cooling pillows using Sci-fi technology is my newest purchase .I have been known to jump out of bed and start beating the sheets with a pillow to remove that one grain of sand I am certain I felt . In fact I was doing it 30 minutes ago. When that happens Pepper looks at me like What did the bed do wrong?!! Doesn't help I usually sleep with minimal fabric between me and the sheets (TMI-sorry) and now with Dr Pepper in the bed ,I feel like I'm freakin' sleeping in a redwood forest. That beard is a twig collector. Feels like I'm sleeping next to ZZ TOP.

These are the sheets I am dreaming of, so if anyone is thinking about a Christmas stocking stuffer...

D. Porthault Jours De Paris

Costing around $1900, the D. Porthault Jours De Paris sheet set is the second most expensive in the world. These costly, luxurious high-end sheets are made from percale, a type of cotton weave. The percale weave gives them a tight and firm texture and is part of what makes these sheets so expensive. Each sheet also has decorative and elaborate hemstitching details, some with mesmerizing green thread that are sure to lull you into a deep, calm sleep as you rest upon sheets that are made from the highest quality pure cotton.

sigh....

I can sleep anywhere, anytime. 20+ yrs of working and living in the worst places in the world make a hard floor and a corner of a room a luxury...lol!
3 major rules I live by
Shower when you can.
Eat when you can.
Sleep when you can.
Because you never know when the opportunity to do these things will happen again.
