I'm encouraged. No increase in the last half hour. We will probably peak around 8 PM.

We haven't even hit the "normal" hot period of summer yet and it's this bad already. Not lookin' good! However, the butter for the toast should be pre-melted so just pour it on over that toast. No knife needed.

My son claims it's just helping hatch out more cicadas here...he's probably right. It's our incubator season.

We should be in the 80s, the heat is early here too. We already have outdoor watering restrictions in place.

5:32 in the PM and it's 90. A brief rain shower cooled us down two degrees and there was another brief rumble of thunder a few minutes ago.

5:13 and we just dropped to 97!

We won't make it to 100 today. I put the eggs away.

I finally made my yearly batch of creamy pea & baby red potato soup, using home-grown peas. Good old-fashioned farm/ranch dish that fills you up and tastes yummy. Just nailed it this year and Im taking it for lunch tomorrow, with a butter-fried Tilapia fillet.
I pulled out what was left of the peas yesterday and got the ground prepped for two hills of summer squashes.
I have had to water the newly planted okra row three times today, to keep it from drying out in the heat.

Humidity is currently 6%.
