When I had my cats they were afraid of the blower. Had to work with them a bit to get them used to the idea the heat was a nice perk.

We haven't turned the blower on yet; I think that the cats just don't like the alarming display of flames. The always run upstairs when we put on a log. We use those Duraflame ones, because they don't cause smoke all over the place.

Six more weeks of Winter, says Phil

Early Thursday, with temperatures around 14 degrees, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle brought Phil out of his den in front of a large crowd to “hear” his prediction.

Phil, in what the club calls “groundhogese,” said he saw his shadow.
