OK, what is in that snow globe? I see a red blob but not what it is.
 
I believe that the musicians in this scene are the group Nightwish who did part of the soundtrack.

The boys Dad, as he is losing his memories, purposely pushes his son away, in hopes of easing their pain.
 
Each character's costume and personalities are references to children's fairy tale characters. For example, Gem is the White Rabbit and Ann is the Cheshire Cat. In the circus scene, Marco is dressed as Puss in Boots and Ann is Snow White.
 
The Snowman in many scenes, was not CGI but actually had the voice actor wear the costume.
