Have you ever been in a play? School? Church? Community playhouse? Tell us about your role and the experience.
Even if you played a tree or animal in a school play, let's hear about it!

Not exactly a play, but as a five year old I was a shepherd in an outdoor Nativity scene.

In 7th grade, I played the Joe Friday character in a junior high talent show production of Stan Freberg's "Little Blue Riding Hood."

Not sure where to start here. Did a lot of dance on stage, was lead in 4 high school plays, sang in a trio at several coffee shops, and played Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar in two venues (although those were understudy roles but I made it on stage a few times.) Was in every talent show I could get into and loved being on stage. My goal was actress, and then life came along.

The only thing I can remember is an Easter play when I was about five. My single line was to sing, "Thank you, thank you, little Easter bunny!" I was very shy, and could only look out at the audience, freeze, and then mumble the words. I doubt anyone could even hear me!

I'm glad you told that story because it reminds me of playing the part of the donkey in a nativity play when about 7. I studied my lines for weeks and on the night I put my donkey head on and said my lines. My mum was roaring with laughter in the audience as no one could here me through the mask and just saw my head nodding, lol.

I was in a few forced plays at school. Acting just wasn't my thing. On the other hand, I loved to sing and did so in church and a couple of choirs and was on TV a few times. I have a rather nice high baritone to high bass voice. Think of maybe Al Jolson or maybe Dean Martin. Unfortunately, I was in the generation where nearly all of the music was ruled by people with falsetto tenor voices.

During my time in Secondary school, I played 'Elvis' in the School's production of 'The Dracula Spectacular' in 1984; a theatrical musical. The show ran for three nights.

It was not a 'main' character part, but I loved it and had a number of lines, alongside singing in the musical numbers, to deliver during the show. I was very much into Drama during College years and when the initial invitation went out for people to audition, I was encouraged by my drama teacher, Mr Hewitt, to go for it. Had so much fun............
