Years ago I was seeing a girl who had a very troubled background. Her family were involved in crime and outlaw gang stuff.I thought I could make a difference in her life and let her see some positive things. Her family home was a madhouse of filth and misery. One day I was picking her up with my brother and as we walked out of the house we saw a young girl about eleven sitting on a bed in the front room. She looked scared and lonely. When me, my brother and my girlfriend drove off I mentioned the girl and all three of us had seen her.We went back and no one was in the house.Later I saw a pic of my girlfriend at 11 and it was the girl sitting on the bed.She told me she had been raped at that age and was never the same after.I feel like her spirit or life had got out of her body and stayed in the house. It never worked out for us,she was too damaged from her life and still lives the way her family did.I always hoped her spirit had returned to her body but I'll never know.

I think it is possible that parts of the soul can "die off" due to tragic events. Even if the host body does not die. Parts of the soul are cut out, so the body and brain can survive. I'm just guessing here, but this example could explain it.

You might find some interesting things in the attached article about this.

Soul Retrieval: Reconnecting with the Missing Pieces of your Soul

Excerpt:

What are the causes of Soul Loss?
Apart some of the obvious causes of Soul loss like serious surgery, accident, shock etc. here is a short list of causes for soul loss:

  • Any form of abuse from sexual to emotional to mental
  • An event of prolonged grief, pain and fear that made you feel trapped without any possibility of escape
  • When you feel shameful enough that you would like to shun ourselves from the world for quite some time.
  • Giving a part of your soul unconsciously in a dependent relationship to another just like giving away your power to the other person.
  • A sudden, shocking incident traps a part of our soul in that time or situation like a ghost.
  • An event where we are rejected, bullied, insulted or are unsupported
  • Under the spell of addiction we sign a part of our soul to that thing
  • Constantly suppressing the intuition until the part of intuition leaves the body

That's an interesting theory that's fits in here,The women today is like a shell of a person with no positive things left, its very sad.I like your idea of spiritualism and earthly survival, it sounds real.

I actually heard of this theory waaay back in the '70's and again when the New Agers hit. It appears to have been around for quite some time.

I've always been an open person but never really read up on these things and have only had internet for a couple of years so am learning a lot lately.Great stuff.

As a therapy I would suggest connecting with nature. Often, outside of the city, you can find a nature experience that gives such relief and connected to the earth. I feel that way in my backyard too. I feed the birds and squirrels and try to scare off coyotes, cats some of the time but it's all good out there. Ever jump into a mountain stream ? or look out over a vast vista? Makes human city problems seem like less.
