Probably East Los Angeles, although I am sure it must have changed a lot since I was last there. I disliked how hot it was there, as well as the smog.

Mexico. Crossed the border once and lasted about an hour before I had been offered drugs 3 times and assaulted. Going in a woman was begging because she was blind. Coming back she was healed from that and now deaf. El Paso crossing. Never again.

Yeah, no way would I go into Gary! Nopey! My dad absolutely banned me from there early in life. I honor his wishes! This was right after I tried to pick him up from US Steel when his car broke down and I ended up downtown. A very nice police officer actually escorted me to the mill parking lot to dad because he was afraid for me. Dad said next time he'd call my uncle and thus the ban began!

Beautiful Juarez. Been there a few times back in the day, flew into/out of El Paso when visiting Holloman AFB in Alamogordo. First time there I was traveling with a very proper RCAF captain, bright guy but clearly out of his element. He was most curious about the "donkey show" we were offered to attend, at least until I explained what it was.

Wow that is terrible. What possible reason did they have? Were they shaking you down for money? I hope you reported them.

Not much point really, they just earned a place on my list . I remember driving through the town and feeling the negativity, people walking past looked scared. There were many mysterious deaths in custody in the police cells there I found out later. The reason I believe was I had long hair and a beard, not popular in a town still caught in the 1950's, a dangerous, backward place.

I am too… if you ever came to the southern US, I will take you to some very good barbecue. In the meantime I’m gonna send you a very very good barbecue sauce recipe that doesn’t require any cooking, and is my favorite. I add a little bit more vinegar cuz like a little bit more on the vinegar side. This recipe is so good I don’t put sauce on the burger, I dip the burger into the sauce literally! It’s that good!
