Yikes! The Price!

Yes, seafood used to be a LOT cheaper. Around here, anyway.

I may have to dig out my old fishing gear and go back to catching my own. One good-sized halibut would be worth about $50-$100 today. And, there are plenty of other good-eating types here that you can't even find in stores.
Crux, you are in California, right? Are you ocean fishing?

Thanks for saying that. Sam's Club has a premium chicken breast that is out of this world but only $5 -$6 a pound. There are some Amish products at the butcher shop that are super high priced.
Anyway I got a bone to pick with this high-priced iceberg lettuce . The price goes up and the size of the head goes down. The same with my local grocery store chain with celery. I go through two bunches a week. The bunch is smaller and more expensive and not as fresh. But when I go to Aldi it's exactly what I want. So I really have to hit two stores about 3/4 of a mile away from each other to get all of my shopping done. It's hard to be a veg- head in the modern world.
