Okay you're Intrepid investigator reporter got to the bottom of the iceberg lettuce price spike.
The store manager said that California had too much heat last summer and it hurt the lettuce crop.

I'm going to get busy on JFK and Bigfoot next. That store manager seems to know everything.

The iceberg lettuce has been pretty lousy here in CA this year. I usually only buy it when the heads are dense and heavy. That's how I like it. I sometimes have to try several different stores to find it like that. This year I haven't found it like that at all.
