7 Reminders If You Feel Emotionally Broken

(Debi's note: I've seen a few people lately struggling with emotions and feeling down. We all have those moments...including ever so happy me! Here are a few notes about how to handle those times. You are not alone....especially here on the forum. Reach out because we are always here for each other.)

We all feel sad sometimes. Whatever the reason of that is, the only thought in our heads at times like these are that things are not going to get better and we will be stuck in this hole forever. We all have those days when everything seems to be going wrong. What you have to remember at these times is that you have to experience those sad moments as it will take you one step closer to reaching your happiness.

Next time you feel emotionally broken, below are mentioned 7 things to take into consideration and motivate yourself.

  1. Pain is necessary. It is inevitable in order to become stronger human beings. If everything went easy, you couldn’t be as happy about your achievements as you are when you have to take difficult challenges and decisions. In addition, these difficult challenges make you prepared for whatever might come in the future.
  2. Remember why you are here. We all have some purpose in life. When you face hard times, remind yourself what is that thing which always makes you smile. Continue the good work you are doing and focus on your goals and dreams even when you are feeling down. It can help you distract your attention and you will think less of whatever is bothering you.
  3. Learn how to react. Although it is impossible to control what is happening around you, you can always control your attitude towards such things. If something bad happens to you, don’t take it too personally.
  4. There are always people who can help you. You can always rely on your family members or best friends as they are the people who care about you the most. Thus, if you have some problems, let them know as they will probably be able to help you.
  5. Be thankful for all the good things surrounding you. Next time you feel emotionally broken, put all those bad feelings aside and make up a list of things which make you happy. They can be as simple as seeing your favorite colleague at work or buying yourself a new pair of jeans.
  6. Focus on activities which you like. If you feel sad, devote your attention to doing what you enjoy doing – may it be watching your favorite film or reading a good book.
  7. This feeling is not going to last forever. When we feel broken, we tend to think that this feeling will never end. However, it is only temporary and it will make you stronger than before.

Thank you. :) and posted right at 1:11! ;)

#3 is Adlerian psychology. I think old Alfred Adler had it right. He was a contemporary of Freud and Jung. Very rare and uncommon common sense. On the surface it sounds like he says absolutely nothing. Dig down deep and Adler said absolutely everything.
That, and you have to be your own caddy.:)

true philosophy right there....the kind that makes you think...some ppl write/speak word apon word, paragraph after paragraph without actually saying anything and then some ppl can say a book full in a couple sentences...( if you actually read and think about what theyre saying )....that's always the best stuff, really brings out the thought process in ya.

I was listening to a series called dark knight of the soul it got a bit twisted but he talked about the same things you have posted. Some things that happen to us are supposed to be because we wanted it at one time in our lives but by the time the universe got back to us we outgrew it and now that we have it it's a burden.

Pope Benedict Number 16 is like that for me. He writes so simply and yet in his line of work he may be the smartest guy that came down the pike in 500 years.:)

This was a nice post and needed. We all have those moments.
