An amazing find! I've heard of witch bottles and have considered using them, but as with most things I simply never got around to it.

These witch bottles remind me of the H.P. Lovecraft story 'The Terrible Old Man'. That's the only time I can remember encountering something similar. In the story, an old seafarer keeps the spirits of his deceased shipmates in such bottles and unleashes them against his tormentors.
