This is my only 'real' UFO encounter experienced about three years ago. I was at a friend's house which is the top flat in a block which sits on a hill looking East so the views are wonderful. We usually sit at a table in the large bay window to enjoy the scenery. Something caught my eye and coming towards the house was a large silver oval I estimated to be around 40 feet in diameter about 150 feet in altitude. I shouted for my friend who was in the kitchen as I tried to turn on the video camera in my ancient smartphone. He came into the living room and we both watched it approaching the house when it made an abrupt turn North, nothing smooth about just that instant sharp change of direction. We watched it slowly grow smaller for around two minutes until it faded from view. Reviewing what I'd captured with the phone camera was disappointing as the object didn't show, maybe I should have tried for stills.
I've since loaded the video file into several editors and tried all sorts of filtering but no joy. As I mentioned in my earlier post I know the sky very well being an amateur astronomer, pilot and flight test observer so I'm sure the size and altitude estimates are as close to accurate as I can be. It was definitely not a balloon. The closest I can find online are the videos many people have taken of the silver spherical spheres in Mexico except what I saw was much lower and closer, it wasn't a sphere but slightly oval and I got the impression it was spinning as it had the slightest of wobbles.
