Actually, they have suspected this for years so it's not "new". They just weren't sure if it was a virus, fungus, or bacteria that was involved.Almost reminds me of the Action News van...There goes that news van again! There goes the science guys again! Explaining everything

It makes sense that it could be viral or fungal. I really wish they wouldn't disturb the dead, though.

I have a problem with the grave digging as well. I think there is a way it could be done without desecrating the body. Some will argue just opening the grave is desecration but in the name of history education, the body could be left alone. We already have the historic knowledge about mummification. The artifacts can be gathered and examined but just leave the body and close up the entrance. Maybe have a person of their religion say some prayers over the grave. IDK maybe I am totally off base on this. It just seems wrong.
