-Me too. The article makes case that it invented a new genre. Movies that came after it where irreverant. Nat.l Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Elf, Bad Santa, Trains Planes & Automobiles. Jean Shepard wrote a Christmas Story about nothing. Jerry Seinfeld was Jeans protoge' and made a career about nothing.
Cool fun fact, I'm related to Jean Shepard. Just don't ask me to diagram how that happened.
