There have been so many fake weeping and bleeding statues in South America that it is hard to take them seriously. I do not doubt that this could really happen, but I am always suspect. The poverty of these churches is a big incentive to make fakes. However, looking at this statues eyes, they look alive. Perhaps this is a real mirical or the artist was a genius.
