Psychics are real. But, the real ones are hard to find. Most of the ones who hang a shingle out to do "readings" are probably shysters. Some years ago, one of my friends took me to someone who was the real deal. I went to someone who read tabacco leaves. She didn't know me from Adam, but told me a lot of detailed things about my personal life that a stranger would have no way of knowing. She told me about my job, my family and work. A shyster may be able to read what you look like and make educated guesses, but someone who truly has a gift won't ask you anything. She will tell you detail after detail. To this day, I occasionally go to her for a reading.
