Vatican exorcists say Halloween causes increase in occult activity

Vatican exorcists have condemned the celebration of Halloween saying the festival is the equivalent ‘of singing hosannas to the devil'.

Rome’s chief exorcist, Gabriel Amorth, has warned of a danger to young people at Halloween, because of the increase in occult activity, which fuels insomnia, mental illness; depression and suicidal thoughts in children, he claims.

He said: ‘Halloween is really a spiritual gathering presented as a form of game.’

‘Europe is pulling away from God and Jesus and worshipping Satan. So should we really be surprised that the world seems to be going to wrack and ruin.

'And psychiatrical and psychological studies show that children can’t sleep, are agitated, depressed, obsessed, suicidal?’

Experts say demonic activity is on the rise due to an increased interest in the occult among the young including ouija boards and seances. The Catholic Church claims that that a spike in possessions in October is down to the phenomenon of Halloween.

An emergency number run by the Pope John Paul II Community’s Anti-Sect service receives hundreds of calls for help over this period, especially from parents who fear that their child has been initiated into the occult.

The numbers of calls from those who need assistance has grown from 43 in 2002 to 1,502 last year, the association claims.

This year there were 1,238 up until Thursday, and the numbers are expected to spike at around 40 a day over Halloween weekend.

All the past week the Catholic talk radio folk have discussed this from every angle. (Makes for a zzzz kinda week:confused:) The overall consensus was leave the ouija boards and seances alone, don't dress up your young daughter in a sexy tart costume, pray for the Satanists, and go to Mass on All Saints Day. Check, check, check, and 9 am tomorrow. Have a ton of respect for Fr. Amorth, however, in his line of work all he sees is demons. Someone needs to take him to the mall and buy him a Cinnabon. :)

Ghouls, ghosts, goblins, witches, warlocks, candy and costume parties are all the makings for All Hallow’s Eve, the big night of the year when kids of all ages dress up and go door to door, except for college students, who will celebrate a “culturally appropriate” Halloween, self-reflecting over the most important question of the night — is my costume offensive?

Wesleyan College asked students “Is your costume offensive?” on a Halloween checklist that defines an offending costume as one that mocks “cultural or religious symbols such as dreadlocks, headdresses, afros, bindis, etc.,” attempts “to represent an entire culture or ethnicity,” or “trivialize human suffering, oppression, and marginalization such as portraying a person who is homeless, imprisoned, a person with disabilities, or a person with mental illness.”

If still unsure before stepping out in a potentially politically incorrect costume, students can email or call one of six campus counselors including staffers at the Office of Equity and Inclusion.

College Turns Halloween into Liberal Political Correctness Fest

5 words for this balderdash and tomfoolery - 'Office of Equity and Inclusion.'
