After Brexit and Trump famous scientist claims we live in 'zoo for aliens'

Renowned astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson says our planet could have extra-terrestrial keepers who created the ongoing political crisis for their own amusement

Renowned astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson has sensationally remarked that he doesn't fear our destruction at the hands of super-intelligent aliens - because we might have already been secretly conquered by them.

The American scientist said he was sceptical that humans would ever be able to make contact with extra terrestrial life, but admitted there was a possibility aliens had already discovered us.

“A sufficiently intelligent civilisation would have positively no interest in us at all," he said at the Starmus Conference in Spain.

But he went on to claim that humans could be part of an 'Alien zoo' with our space overlords inflicting 'weird politics' such as Brexit and the American election on us to provide themselves with entertainment, according to the Independent.

“Maybe I don’t fear it, I just hope that all they would do for us is create a zoo where we are happy.

"And maybe that is what they call Earth.”

Fellow physicist Stephen Hawking has previously expressed his belief that our planet may be at risk of destruction at the hands at more advanced alien civilizations, but DeGrasse Tyson seems to think that we simply wouldn't be worth the hassle.

He added: "In the same way as when you’re walking down a street and there’s a worm there.

"And even if you wanted to kill all the worms, he continued, you’d soon get bored and do something else."
