You may have answered it, but they did infer on the show that the boat was in deep enough water that when the moose crossed in front of it that it should have sunk. It really does look like it is not sinking. It still is an amazing catch on video.

Clearly after the moose crosses paths, it goes deeper and splashes more. I agree, shallow water till it gets to other side. Notice no sound except music. You'd hear the tell-tale fan of the air boat.
