Make yourself a quick snack before going grocery shopping so that you don't make impulse purchases simply because you are hungry so it looks good.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This does NOT work when going to the liquor store!

For pomegranates I peel and open them in a mixing bowl full of water. The skin and pale membrane floats but the seeds don't.
I have never had a pomegranate. They look like a ball of seeds. Are they good?

I have never had a pomegranate. They look like a ball of seeds. Are they good?

They're good, but can be kind of a pain as they really are just a ball of seeds. When you do get all the seeds out each one has just a little bit of edibles goodness around it. You get a much lower fruit-to-seed ratio than, say a cherry but it takes more work to get them.
