Haunted Paintings

OK, that's better! I found it an interesting read, and it reminded me of a painting that I had to discard. Nothing so dramatic as the stories in that article, but it was a beautiful painting of an autumnal scene; just a road with a lot of trees that were turning, and a profusion of red, yellow, gold and brown leaves piled on the ground around them. I bought it from a second hand dealer and hung it over my fireplace.

It took me a while to realize that whenever I looked at that painting that I would start to feel down. In a few weeks, I felt profoundly depressed and apathetic about everything. At first, I thought that maybe a painting of autumn was a downer, but there was more to it than that. The picture was just depressing. I finally put it out in the trash, even though I had paid a fairly decent price for it. The sad feelings vanished, after that.

It seems everything can hold energy , paintings probably do too.
