Lance McCullers is going to get at least one more big league start, as expected, on Saturday in Detroit against the Tigers. He’ll need a fresh pair of kicks, though.
McCullers had Batman logos on his spikes Monday night for his major league debut, which drew a lot of buzz online. On Tuesday, he received a warning letter from MLB, but no fine, an expected wrist slap.
MLB uniform regulations are collectively bargained and the usage of logos is directly addressed.
“This has taken on a life of its own,” manager A.J. Hinch said before it was known a warning had been issued. “I don’t think it’s the last you’ll hear of Batman regardless.”
Batman shoes or not, McCullers showed he can hang in the bigs.

Maybe next time he'll have to make do with a pair of Batman socks!
