I don't remember where exactly. It was domestic between two American cities. I still remember the sensation of the jet engines throwing me back into the seat. It was exciting. I knew the theory of flight. I knew why planes lift. It was exciting to see and feel the power of the engines for the first time. I still like it.

First flight was as 13-14 years old in an open cockpit WACO biplane at a local airshow.
Wow. That reminds me I had an earlier flight as a teen too. It was a paid trip up in a small plane. It was fun and a bit unnerving.

14 years old - family deployed from California to Okinawa, Japan. That’s a very long flight to be on having never experienced flight before and especially sitting next to my Mom who was extremely afraid to fly.
