I will tell you I have seen these "conversations" many times.

When my husband was lying in ICU close to death's door and was fighting to make it to surgery to save him, we witnessed him talking to his grandfather and father for about an hour. He told us they both told him to fight and stay for the surgery...that it wasn't his time yet.

He does not remember the conversations or the visits, but my sons and I both witnessed these conversations.

Similar experience with my Mom in hospice, she was talking to Mrs Duke's late father. He died before our parents ever met.
