My father just recently passed away on May 1st due to brain cancer and was buried at a small rural cemetery on a family farm. The reason he was allowed to be buried here was because his late great great grandfather was buried there many years ago and my father desperately wanted to be buried beside him. In return for this, me and my family donate once a year and help upkeep the cemetery (Lawn care, fence work ETC). Well worth it for my dads preferred burial place.
Most the graves in the cemetery are Extremely old, keep in mind, roughly in 18 hundreds and there are plenty of child graves. To actually start the story, I was having a terrible night last night. And I missed my father a great deal, so I decided to drive and visit him at 11:30 at night. I'm the youngest of the children, at 20 years old, so staying up late isn't really new to me and most my Saturday nights were spent with my father, so I naturally found myself at this cemetery for the first time very late at night.
It was roughly 11:50 PM when I arrived, and since I hadn't had a flashlight, I parked my car in front of the gate with the headlights shining in on my fathers grave. (He's about three rows away from the front of the cemetery, so very close) I left my car running, of course, as its in the middle of the country side and I was completely sure nobody would steal it or anything.
I went and sat for probably about 30 minutes there, and then suddenly my headlights shut off in my car, though it was still running. Keep in mind my car is Very reliable and has never done this before. I started to panic of course, I used my cellphone to call my brother who didn't answer, and then I used my phone for a light to see, while I walked to my car. I checked the backseat and nobody was inside, I finally got inside my car, to see my headlights were shut off, and my heater was turned all the way on warm, full blast. My car felt like a hot box, honestly, and keep in mind, nobody opened the door, and I never roll my windows down. It's summer, first of all, so I would Never turn my heat on, let alone on full blast.
I've never really been a superstitious person, but this experience left me with a sour taste in my mouth, persay.
I've known the cemetery to have many broken headstones from many people upkeeping the cemetery Very Poorly and running over headstones and breaking many. Me and my brother went back today in the daylight, and counted 36 broken headstones in total, which yes, were like this when I showed up last night. But I'm thinking if this Is something paranormal, could that be an aggravator towards something paranormal, and would fixing the headstones solve the problem?
