'God is Being Eroded, Eclipsed, Liquidated' in the United States, Cardinal Says

Recent events in the U.S. are destroying Americans' ability to connect to God, according to Cardinal Robert Sarah, a native of the West African nation of Guinea.

In a keynote address at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, Cardinal Sarah said that in the United States, "God is being eroded, eclipsed, liquidated," Catholic News Agency reports.
Cardinal Sarah pointed out specific events "in the name of 'tolerance'" that have contributed to this erosion, including "the legalization of same sex marriage, the obligation to accept contraception within health care programs, and even 'bathroom bills' that allow men to use the women’s restrooms and locker rooms."
"Should not a biological man use the men’s restroom?" he said in his prepared remarks. "How simpler can that concept be?"

He further warned that subversions of the church's teachings – including a "demonic 'gender ideology'" – could lead to the family unit becoming "a place where human beings can be humanly and spiritually wounded."
To combat these subversions, Cardinal Sarah encouraged the audience to "be prophetic, be faithful, and above all, pray."

"The Holy Father [Pope Francis] openly and vigorously defends Church teaching on contraception, abortion, homosexuality, reproductive technologies, the education of children and much more," he noted.
"In the end, it is God or nothing."

House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sister Constance Veit of the Little Sisters of the Poor also delivered remarks prior to the cardinal's keynote address.

I'm not going to pray about a man using a women's bathroom, or a woman using a man's bathroom. I don't see why we have gender bathrooms in the first place. This coming from a woman who's bathroom need has grown strong through many pregnancies. I will use what is available. Sorry if that's gross to some lol

I agree our faith is waning in Ametica. We need to come together in prayer and intentions for peace and love. It sounds routine and trite but it doesn't make it less true. We need love and wisdom to heal our world. Mokey is right bathrooms and small midedness is half the problem.
