I do believe the women thinks this happened but I feel she had issues growing up and BF or hairy man was her imaginary friend. Lucky she had him as the parents sounded like neglectful drunks. Maybe BF is like fae and sent to help sometimes?

I didn't see an article at the site, just a pic and a post. I recall a guest on some paranormal show that could be this woman. The guest talked about growing up rurally and swimming with a young BF until they reached a certain age, and the mama BF wouldn't let him come anymore. The guest was quite believable, I think she believed it. Is it possible that a toddler or juvenile BF could interact with other kids, I think so, but have no idea if that is what actually happened. There are so many damaged and mentally ill people on the internet now it is hard to know what's real.
