Sandblasted and painted a separation tank for sewage treatment once. 24 ft tall and 50 ft in diameter. Open top. Served a residential neighborhood.
No wonder something like that was one of Dante's levels of hell.
It took a lot of Budweiser to get that smell and (taste ) out. Ughhhh.....

Glad he is alright. That happens more than you think and not always ends well for the person falling inside. Could've happened to me with an old well covered over with a piece of old plywood (that will rot away) and dirt.
