I read history like a ravenous dog. I like real historians that dig into the archives or actually live during the time. Everything else is just balderdash political commentary.
The "boxing" from when upper crust Brits would give "Christmas boxes" (gifts) to servants, tradesman, and the like. In the British military there is also a tradition where officers serve dinner to the NCOs and enlisted ranks the day after Christmas.
