Ooooof. I got the wrong one. I wanted to do the King Tut one with Steve Martin.

From the "WTH???" story board of my life. Today's Owl adventure.

Sitting here working on forum stuff when I look down at my right forearm which is kinda achy. I notice a small bite or sting mark (didn't feel it happen) and the next minute I'm looking at an arm that is swollen twice it's size on one side and red as a beet. Obviously a severe allergic reaction to whatever bit me. Searching for an epi pen that I know I once had around here somewhere because I have a known problem with bees, we slapped a bag of frozen broccoli cuts on it and, not finding the darn pen, threw some benedryl in me. So! For the last 3 1/2 hours, we've played treat the arm with frozen bags (I highly recommend frozen corn for this), watched my 02 and breathing, and somehow have come out the other side of this with only slight swelling and mild redness left.

For a woman who is isolating and doesn't leave her house, strange things still happen to me. :p Bring on a bugless winter, please.

So glad to hear your nursing and survival instincts kicked in Debi. Hope you are not still in much pain.

No, the pain was actually pretty mild. The "ice" was to take down the swelling! I was more concerned how far this reaction was going to go...system wide or just stay local. And I really would like to know what got me. Normally I feel when something stings me....didn't have a clue other than the obvious "sting/bite" left behind.

Hubs says when I'm on the forum my focus is absolute and I would miss a bomb going off behind me. That theory may have some merit...lol

I am glad that you are okay! I had a huge bite on my left arm which I am pretty sure was a mosquito bite. The only thing that stopped the horrific itching was toothpaste.

It's a good thing you are a nurse!

Thanks, Garnet. It appears the epipen is no place to be found. Would probably have been out of date anyway, but I was planning ahead for an ER trip at first. By the time we found my shoes it was starting to come down some.

Mosquitoes don't like me. I rarely get bit by them. But I'm like a blinkin' beacon for spiders, bees and wasps. Anyone else notice how many more bugs are out and about right now? We went indoors and they're taking over out there.
