I've visited the boneyard. A really cool place, but it's chilling to think of these planes sitting there.
This is the one we toured, I think. Went through the museum and several other buildings, then took the tour part out in the boneyard. Had to drag my hubs out of the place at closing time.Davis Monthan AFB AMARG Boneyard
The DoD boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB is massive. Was there one time to help select an aircraft for use as a ground test and demonstration unit. I would have liked to have taken the tour, but this was shortly after 9/11 and no tours were being conducted.
I read this and it leaves all sorts of questions in it's wake...very interesting!
