Sandwiches

The ladies loved it. At that time most of them had only read about Godiva chocolates in romantic novels, back then one wee chocolate cost more than £1, these days about 2 dollars :)
I don’t know what the dollar value is to a lb but when I bought truffles a few years ago they were several dollars a piece.

I'm a pleb, spam sandwiches are great

You need to live in Hawaii, Spam is considered a delicacy there. I went to a cookout once with some guys I was working with at Hickham, they were grilling Spam. One of them told me a couple million cans of the stuff is eaten annually in Hawaii.

I've never cooked it an any way just getting it out of the can is an art

Yeah some of them do! ER rooms will testify to that lol

GIs getting Purple Hearts in WWII for cutting themselves on Spam cans was a running joke during the war.

I read an article back after the Gulf War where British and US soldiers tried each other's combat rations. Not surprisingly, each preferred the other's rations. Different often equates to better.

Aye, I watch YouTube vids on MRE reviews and they look much better than I ever got. Every pack had Garibaldi biscuits known as flies graveyard as they were just thin biscuits with raisins
