We have had Halloween stuff across the aisle from Christmas stuff for about that long in Walmart. Thanksgiving is more or less in end caps of those aisles! Like an after thought.

Normally family gathered together for the meal. It's a gathering, and usually the kick off day for Xmas shopping. We always keep it low key.
