USDA Burns Hundreds Of Healthy Kittens To Death After Conducting Experiments On Them

Time marches on but it seems that every day the United States seems to be moving backward, particularly with how it treats its most vulnerable. This applies not only to humans but to animals as well. With reports such as those coming out of Idaho where a science teacher fed a live puppy to a snapping turtle in front of his class to the halls of the USDA itself, animal cruelty is becoming a sanctioned behavior so long as it is done in the name of food, entertainment, or in the name of the new religion of “science” – all three things Americans have gorged themselves on for the last two-and-a-half decades.

Now, reports that the USDA is killing hundreds of kittens at its test lab in Prince George County Maryland have drawn the ire of a Michigan Congressman.

Congressman Mike Bishop of Michigan announced that he has sent a letter to the Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue in order to express his concerns about the activities of the Beltville USDA lab.

Bishop stated in his letter that hundreds of kittens are bred for testing, fed parasite-infected raw meat for a number of weeks, and then killed by “incineration.” According to Bishop, the USDA admits that the kittens are even healthy at the end of the experiment.

Let that sink in. The USDA is conducted years worth of seemingly useless experiments on kittens. When the experiment is finished, the healthy kittens are then apparently burned to death by the researchers.

“I’m shocked and disturbed that for decades the USDA—the very organization charged with enforcing animal welfare laws—has been unnecessarily killing hundreds of kittens inexpensive and inefficient lab experiments,” Bishop said in a written statement. “Any government research program like this one that’s been funded since the Nixon administration needs to be put under the microscope, especially when it involves using kittens as disposable test tubes in harmful tests that most taxpayers oppose.”

Indeed, many Americans might be shocked to find that the individuals they so revere as “experts” and who they so willingly seem to want to allow to have so much authority over their lives exhibit such strong markers of psychopathy.

Bishop’s letter called for an investigation of the program and asks why the kittens are killed as opposed to being offered up for adoption. He urged researchers to find some other method of testing that does not involve kittens and wondered how much research was actually conducted to determine if there is an alternative that is more humane.

FOX 5 attempted to contact the USDA for comment but to no avail.

While testing on kittens is cruel and disgusting, the fact is that testing on other animals is just as cruel and just as disgusting. At the end of the day, it is not one specific animal that should be removed from scientific testing but every single one of them.

We congratulate Congressman Bishop for speaking up about this issue and we hope that the world begins to wake up to the realities and horrors of animal testing and that it starts making moves to end the barbaric and immoral practice.

This is disgusting. Even if they had to be euthanized because experiments resulted in an animal’s lacking quality of life, there’s no excuse to burn anyone alive.

And we keep worrying about this treatment of animals translating into human treatment, this is the kind of thing we have to be concerned about in regards to experiments and disposal of animals.

These scientists are the kinds of people who are going to literally burn in Hell.

I agree Charleh

A bunch of sadistic sociopaths! I don’t agree with most animal testing. The fact that the congressman is not getting a response shows how high up the sociopaths are placed in our gov. Sad and descusting news.
